TERRAMAR IN THE COMMUNITY

Because success never comes alone

AFFILIATIONS

Terramar has always played a key role in the meeting world. Our people are not only members, but we are actively involved with many industry associations, including being part of board of directors, presidents of chapters, etc. We believe in creating, growing and nurturing professional relationships as well as giving back to the success of this community. Julia Trejo, our Director of Business Development is a past president of the SITE Mexico Chapter and was bestowed with the highest honor as member of the year SITE in 2012. She currently serves as a member of the International Board of Directors for SITE 2013 – 2020. Michele McShane and Luis Montoya have also been part of the board of directors for the SITE local chapter.

GIVING BACK

Linda Thompson memorial scholarship

Annually, ADMEI administers an annual academic scholarship as a living tribute to Linda Thompson, who was a vital part of the Destination Management Company (DMC) profession. Terramar is proud supporter and committee member overseeing this scholarship.

This scholarship serves to honor the legacy of Linda Thompson, longtime co-owner of our Northern California office, who was an industry leader and absolute legend.

Search Foundation

The SEARCH Foundation was formed in 1997 to assist event, meetings, and catering professionals faced with a life-threatening illness. Since that time, it has expanded to include not only illness, but also catastrophic occurrences.

After more than 25 years of assisting industry individuals in crisis, the foundation has funded 100% of qualified cases. Recipients were profoundly affected by the efforts of the board, committees, and supporters. Together, we have surpassed our goal of over $1,000,000 distributed to people in need.

SUSTAINABILITY

We are determined to continue whatever our company and other organizations are doing to contribute to world and community sustainability. Initiatives focused on our planet's health include going green during programs in ways that count.

Polycarbonate drink bottles that are long term event memorabilia, function well for bulk beverage options throughout the program and steer us away from plastic bottles, which last for thousands of years in landfills. Paperless registration for tour and activity options and dine-around will save paper and allow participants to have easy access to choices, even before the program.

On-site printing of program materials to avoid the long distance 'eco-cost' as well as the real cost of shipping and customs. QR codes with web hosted program materials, as opposed to excessive hand outs.
